Nachni Soup

(Finger Millet or Ragi) – (Serves:2)

Ingredients
  • 1/4th Cup nachni flour
  • ½ tomato chopped
  • ½ onion chopped
  • A fist full ofgreen peas
  • 1/4th cup carrots chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 250 ml water
  • 1/2 cup skimmed milk
  • Salt and red chilli powder to taste
  • Chopped coriander to garnish
For Tempering
  • ½ tsp coconut oil (Optional)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
How to make
  1. Boil water and add onion and garlic to it followed by carrots, green peas, tomatoes, salt and chilli powder. Let it boil for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a separate pan and add the tempering ingredients to it, let it splutter and add it to the soup.
  3. Add the milk followed by ragi flour dissolved in plain water.
  4. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
